Important Technical Notice Regarding Supercharger Snout Rebuilds

All GTT supercharger snout rebuilds are carried out to a high standard using quality components and extensive experience with Eaton M45 superchargers. However, we cannot accept liability for failures caused by internal rotor pack oil seal/bearing deterioration.
The Eaton M45 uses internal oil seals behind the large rotor timing gears & bearings which share the same oil bath as the supercharger snout. If these bearings &/or oil seals perish or fail, oil can migrate away from the snout assembly, leading to oil starvation and potential failure of the snout bearings, coupler, and gears.
Due to the construction of the rotor pack assembly, dismantling it to replace these bearings & oils seals carries a significant risk of damage to the supercharger and is therefore not rebuild option during a GTT supercharger inspection, rebuild or service . Please see our technical article for further information: https://www.gtt.uk.com/new-gtt-mini-cooper-s-r53-supercharger-rotor-pack-rebuilds/
During a rebuild we will always do our best to inspect the integrity and condition of the rotor pack bearings & oil seals where possible. If we believe the seals have failed or are showing signs of failure, we will recommend replacement of the supercharger with a new or reconditioned unit supplied by GTT, or where available we may be able to offer a replacement rotor pack assembly.
Any future failure caused by rotor pack seal deterioration, oil migration, or lubricant loss outside the scope of the snout rebuild is not covered under warranty.

Important Technical Notice Regarding PTO+ Rebuilds

Due to the construction of the supercharger’s internal oil seals behind the large rotor timing gears, failure of these seals can lead to oil migration away from the snout or PTO section. In a PTO+ rebuild, we only replace the oil & drive coupler in the chamber. Changing the oil & coupler itself does not cause damage to these seals, but if the seals have perish or fail, oil loss can still occur.
We do our best to inspect the rotor packs bearings & oil seals integrity during the rebuild. If we detect issues, we’ll recommend a new supercharger, a reconditioned unit from us, or where available, a replacement rotor pack. Any future failure caused by seal deterioration or oil loss outside the PTO+ rebuild scope is not covered under warranty.
