SO WHICH ‘HALF WIT’ LEFT A CLOTH IN THE SUPERCHARGER INLET ?
Locked up Supercharger! – Risk of becoming scrap!
This has become a bit of a trend. more and more. Usually caused by a rag or paper but also sometimes a small washer or nut!
Another was tiny bristles from a wire brushed where someone was trying to clean up the appearance of the outside
Please be careful when working on the cars intake, if you are using rags, cloths etc
Check your intake thoroughly for foreign objects before reassembly and start-up! Check you SC spins freely!

Here’s a supercharger we received that was locked solid. It occurred from a mechanic leaving some blue roll in the intake while working on the engine. It is a good idea to block the intake when working on engine to stop debris getting inside, but do not forget to unblock before starting the car!
All this damage was done by only a few sheets of blue roll.
The rotors compacted it so tightly it locked the rotors against the outer casing – Significant force was needed to remove from the casing. i.e. A  20Ton Hydraulic press! = bearings and casing ruined.
The rotors were still locked together once removed.
Only now they have become free. And you can see the damage: Warped rotors & cracked coating.
